Night Watch

Night Watch is a free co-op defence game you can play right in your browser. A little farmstead stands at the edge of a dark forest. By day you chop trees, break stone and pick herbs, then raise a palisade, watchtowers, a ballista, lanterns and spiked traps. When dusk falls the trembita sounds, the gate shuts — and the monsters of old folk tales come out of the forest for the bonfire.

Ghouls, skeletons, werewolf packs, bats, swamp blobs, imps, ghosts that walk through walls and a witch on her broom. Your hero fights on their own; you choose where to stand, when to dash and when to use your skill. Every level brings a choice of three gifts — fire, silver, lightning, a charmed shirt — so no two runs play the same. Hold seven nights and face the Forest Lord himself.

Four heroes to play: Ostap the woodcutter with his axe, Myroslava the archer, Yaryna the herbalist with her lantern and Taras the blacksmith with his hammer. Call up to three friends to hold the farmstead together and lift each other up when someone falls. Earn coppers for new heroes and outfits. Plays on PC, phone and tablet with no download.

Tips for the first nights: use the whole day — the more wood and stone you bring in before dusk, the more walls and towers stand when the trembita sounds. Build around the bonfire rather than far out, light lanterns where the forest is closest, and put spiked traps on the paths the monsters take. At night, stay near the bonfire and dash out only to finish a monster that got through. Pick gifts that suit your hero, and in a group, spread out around the farmstead so no side is left open.
